Whadup! I’m Kevin, founder of September Sun. Originally from the Bay Area, I currently call the Pacific Northwest home base. I’m a firefighter by day (and night) and a tinker-er of ideas by night.

I started this tallow-based skin care company for a number of reasons. The primary reason is to reduce toxic load on the body. Skin care products are mostly toxic. Our skin is the biggest organ on our body making up about 22 sq ft and weighing 8 lbs on the average adult body. It’s absorbing all those chemicals from lotions, aftershave, moisturizers, etc. into our cells and bloodstream. The toxicity leads to chronic illnesses and major diseases which leads to dependence on medicine and synthetic ointments.

Toxicity hits close to home too. My wife and I have a host of underlying health issues that stemmed from living situations, foods, and products we were under-educated about. As a firefighter, I also interface and deal with toxicity on the job. My goal is to provide products that protect and feed the skin without all the toxic.

The second reason I started the company was to make healthy products affordable and accessible. Consumers shouldn’t be punished for making good choices. I’m committed to being thoughtful about sourcing natural ingredients from solid companies.

The final reason is to join this uphill fight against big corporations, propaganda, and pharmaceuticals who are slowly killing people with poor quality goods and information. There’s a lot of great companies out there that are putting forth honest goods and information. I hope to be one of them!
